1. Information We Collect

SplitNest collects information necessary to facilitate shared living expense tracking among housemates:

• Account Information: Email address, display name, and optional phone number. If you sign in using Google, we receive your verified email and name from Google Identity Services.
• Financial & Living Records: Living space names ("Nests"), expense descriptions, monetary amounts (stored as integer minor units), split participant associations, communal kitty contributions, and recorded settlements.

2. How We Use Information

Your information is strictly used to compute household balances, simplify peer debts, and maintain the immutable audit history of your shared household. We do not sell personal information or financial data to data brokers or advertising networks.

3. Storage & Security

Passwords are salted and cryptographically hashed using Argon2id. Sessions in the browser are secured via in-memory access tokens and HttpOnly, SameSite cookies. On mobile, refresh credentials are protected inside the Android Keystore.

4. Account Deletion & Data Rights

You may deactivate or request deletion of your account at any time. Due to shared financial accounting integrity, expenses created within an active Nest remain as historical records in that Nest's audit trail, but your personal credentials and identity linkage will be severed.
